Immediate ACK
This is for normal wireless networking. This is the default
setting.
Burst ACK
This is not as reliable as Immediate ACK, but provides faster
wireless networking.
No ACK
This is normally used in a multicast broadcast like video.
Do not use this unless you know what you are doing.

speed limit. Application This option
you can select None, Add a New
Application, Voice Device or select fom the list of applications you want to set. Selecting
Online games will display the Select a Game

will list a few common pre-confgured games you can select.
Otherwise, select Add a New Application to create a new entry. For
further information on Add a New Application, please go to
that section.
Priority
Select the bandwidth priority for the application you selected. Select
High, Medium, Normal or Low for the bandwidth you need for that
application. Avoid setting all applications to high, this will defeat the
purpose of allocating the available bandwidth. If you want to select below
normal bandwidth, select Low. Depending on the application, a few trial and error
may be needed to achieve your goal.
Once you have
made your selection, click Add to add to the Summary list.

Name Enter any name to indicate
the name of the entry.
Category
Select the category the priority should be based on. The options available
are Port Range or MAC address. This is critical for the router to
determine what category requires bandwidth priority.
Port Range This
category allows you to enter the port range the application will be
using. For example, if you want to allocate bandwidth for FTP, you
can enter 21-21. If you need services for some application
that uses from 1000 to 1250, you enter
1000-1250 as your settings. You can have up to three ranges
to define for this bandwidth allocation. Port numbers can range from
1 to 65535. Check your application's user guide for details on service ports
used.
MAC Address Enter a 12 hexidecimal digit to
represent the device you want to set bandwidth priority. This
is a unique identifier for your network device. When the router identifies
the deviced entered, the router will allocate the priority set for that
entry. Check on the user guide of the device to obtain the MAC
Address. |
