Key is when the sender and recipient use a WEP
key for authentication. Open System is when
the sender and the recipient do NOT use a WEP key

Data Rates |
This
defines the basic data rate your access point
will advertise. |

Transmission
Rates |
The default setting is
Auto. The range is from 1 to 54Mbps.
The rate of data
transmission should be set depending on the speed
of your wireless network. You can select from a
range of transmission speeds, or you can keep the
default setting, Auto, to have the Access
Point automatically use the fastest possible data
rate and enable the Auto-Fallback feature.
Auto-Fallback will negotiate the best possible
connection speed between the Access Point and a
wireless client. |
Transmission
Power |
Determines
the power of wireless transmit. Use the default
value if you are unsure of what this setting
should be.

Protection Mode |
Clear
To Send (CTS) protection mode ensures that 802.11g
client can maintain a performance advantage in a
mixed environment with 802.11b
devices. |

Enabling this option
should provide your network with greater

will begin to fragment packets. Do not change this
setting unless you are experiencing problems on
your network. |
RTS
Threshold |
This
defines the threshold at which the access point
will start to implement a Request to Send (RTS).
Do not change this setting unless you are
experiencing problems on your network.
