Administration Tab / Management


This section of the Administration tab allows the network’s administrator to manage specific Gateway functions for access and security.

Local Gateway Access Gateway Username, Password, and Re-enter to Confirm
You can change the Username and Password from here. Enter a new Gateway Username and Password and then type it again in the Re-enter to Confirm field to confirm.
 
Remote Gateway Access Remote Management
To access the Gateway remotely, from outside the local network, select Enable. Otherwise, keeps the default setting, Disable.

Remote Management Port

Enter the port number that will be open to outside access. The default setting is 8080. This port must be used when you establish a remote connection.
SNMP Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a set of protocols often used in corporate environments to manage complex networks.

Device Name

Enter a suitable name. This name will be used to identify this device, and will be displayed by your SNMP software.

SNMP

Select Enable if you wish to use SNMP. To use SNMP, you need SNMP software on your PC.

Get Community

Enter the SNMP community name for SNMP "Get" commands.

Set Community

Enter the SNMP community name for SNMP "Set" commands.

Trap Management

Enter the IP Address of the SNMP Manager to which traps will be sent. If desired, this may be left blank.
 
UPnP Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) allows Windows Me and XP to automatically configure the Gateway for various Internet applications, such as gaming and video conferencing.

UPnP

If you want to use UPnP, keep the default setting, Enable. Otherwise, select Disable.
 
IGMP Proxy

If you want to use IGMP Proxy, keep the default setting, Enable. Otherwise, select Disable.
 
WLAN

Management via WLAN

If you want to manage the Gateway through the Wireless Local-Area Network (WLAN), keep the default setting, Enable. Otherwise, select Disable.
 

Click the Save Settings button to apply your changes or Cancel Changes button to cancel.
