The dynamic routing feature of the router can be used to allow the router to automatically adjust to physical changes in the network's layout. The router uses the dynamic RIP protocol, which determines the route that the network packets take based on the fewest number of hops between the source and the destination. The RIP protocol regularly broadcasts routing information to other routers on the network.

• Choose the working mode.
• "Gateway" mode (default) should be used if your Linksys Router is hosting your network's connection to the Internet.
• "Router" mode should be selected if the router exists on a network with other routers, including a seperate network gateway that handles the Internet connection.

• Choose the protocol you want the router to use to Transmit data on the network.
• The default is "Disabled". There is no need to change this unless your LAN has other Routers or Gateways.
• If "RIP1" is selected, other Routers on your LAN must also support RIP1 (Routing Information Protocol 1).

• Click this button to see the routing table.
• You can see all of the valid route entries in use.
