Local Router Access
Router Password | Enter the password you choose for this router. This is needed to gain access to the web-based utility. |
Re-enter to confirm | Enter the password chosen above to confirm that you properly entered the password. |
Remote Router Access
Remote Upgrade | This option allows for upgrading the router's firmware from a remote location. |
Remote Administration | This option allows you to access the web-based utility from a remote location. |
Administrator Port | Enter the port number you want to use to get access to the router from a remote location. |
Access the router from the remote location
To get access to the router from a remote location, enter the following in the URL of your favorite browswer:
http:// <internet IP address of the router>:<Administrator Port>. For example, if your Ip address is 1.2.3.4 and you set the administrator port number to be 5204, you would enter the following in the URL:
http://1.2.3.4:5204.
SNMP
The router supports Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), which is a widely used network monitoring and control protocol. This allows network supervisor to monitor the Router using network management systems such as Openview.
Contact | Enter the name oft he contact person for the Router. |
Device Name | Enter the name for the Router. |
Location | Enter the location of the Router. |
Get Community | Enter the password that allows read-only access to the Router's SNMP information. |
Set Community | Enter the password that allows read/write access to the Router's SNMP information. |
SNMP Trusted Host | You can restrict to the Router's SNMP information by IP address. Enter the IP address or range of IP addresses in the SNMP Trusted Host field. If this field is left blank, then access is permited from any IP address. |
SNMP Trap-Community | Enter the password required by the remote host computer that will receive trap messages or notices sent by the Router |
SNMP Trap-Desination | Enter the IP address of the Remote host computer that will receive the trap. |
UPnP | Select Enable to allow UPnP communication between the Router and the computer that is UPnP compliant. By default, UPnP is Disabled. |
Allow users to make Configuration Changes | This options allows users to make changes using windows XP utilities. For instance, make changes in the UPnP Forwarding that is configurable using Windows XP utility. |
Allow users to Disable Internet Access | This option allows users to disabling Internet access by disabling network connections in Windows XP. |
Click Save Settings to save any changes.
