Basic Setup
The Basic Setup screen is where basic router configuration is performed.Some ISPs (Internet Service Providers) will require that you enter the DNS information. These settings can be obtained from your ISP. After you have configured these settings, you should set a router password from theAdministration->Management screen.
Internet Setup is all that is required to set up for your specificISP. Please look at the table below to configure for your Internet connection.

SingTel Magix uses Alcatel Remote Access Service (RAS) as the main method to authenticate their ADSL servers. This method uses TCP port 5555. If your ISP provides PPTP connection, follow the steps below:

You need to fill in both the User Name and Password fields, as directed by your ISP that is running HeartBeat Signal (HBS). You can also select the Connect on Demand option for
automatic connection. After you select the Connect on Demand feature
in the status screen, the connection will be disconnected if it has
been idle for a period longer than the Max Idle Time setting. If
you check the Keep Alive option, the Router will always try to keep
the line connected. |
Optional settings allows you to enter the Host Name,Domain Name, and MTU. These settings may not be required for all ISP. Below areoptions you for your settings.
Host Name |
Enter a name for the device. Some ISPs may require this information. This allows some users who get IP address automatically from their ISP. For most users, this is not required. |
Domain Name |
Enter a name for the domain. Some ISPs may require this information. This allows some users who get IP address automatically from their ISP.For most users, this is not required. |
MTU |
Select Disable toturn off MTU. Select Enable to manually set the MTU size.Enter the size depending on your ISP. Check with your ISP for theappropriate size. Manually setting the MTU is not required by all ISP. |
Network Setup is to set up your local network IP address and tosetup your DHCP Server.
The table below is to set you yourlocal IP address or LAN. This is where you can modify your router's IPaddress. This is what you will need to enter the router's web-basedutility.

Enter the Router's IPaddress. This will change the IP address of the router. This iswhere you can change the IP address. For novice users, it is notrecommended to modify this settings. |

Enter the Router's Subnet Mask. For novice users, it is notrecommended to modify this settings. |
Network Address Server Settings is where you canconfigure you DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server. This willautomatically assign the IP address for each computer connected to theRouter. By default, it is set to allow for 50 computers.
LocalDHCP Server |
Enable DHCPserver if you want the router to automatically set the IP address to eachcomputer. Select Disable to manually assign IP address to each computerconnected to the router. |
Start IP Address |
Enter the IP address you want to start assigning IP address to eachcomputer connected to the router. |
Numberof Address | Enter the numberof computers to assign IP address. Enter the number of computers you havein your network. This will let the router know how many computers are onyour network. It is recommended to minimize the number of IP addressassigned for security reasons. |
DHCP Address Range | This will display the range of IP addressassigned in your network. |
Client LeaseTime | Enter the number of minutes to keep the leasebefore it expires. If you leave this setting at zero, the lease timebefore it expires is one day. |
Enter all the values and click Save Settings to save the data. You can test these settings are correct by connecting to the Internet. If you are using a Cable or DSL modem, reset your modem now.
Note: If your network is already running a DHCP server, you should disable the Router's DHCP server function in order to prevent possible IP address conflicts.
For most users, the default values for the device should be satisfactory. The device can be used in most network settings without changing any of the values. Some users will need to enter additional information in order to connect to the Internet through an ISP (Internet Service Provider) or broadband (DSL, cable modem) carrier.
